Cave diving sites

Any updates planned to the Ressel Cave site to expand it? Or any new cave dive sites planned?

I would love to see this one:

eDiver, what kind of data do you need to do something like this?

I volunteer to help if needed. I am fairly handy with 3DStudio MAX.

that is interesting. We use 3DS too.
We have developed an internal tool that converts a 3DS model / scene into our own internal format.
Basically you could create and 3D model of the cave and we just easily import it into the scene.
Why don't we give it a try? Maybe you could prepare the 3D model for the first 100 meters?

no problem ;)
I think that SketchUp will be more than OK for low poly - non animated models

If you have the Pro version you can export your models to .3ds

If you have the basic version just export them in .dae .... and we will take it from there.

Maybe we could set-up a "testing dive site" where we could drop-in user generated models?

sorry, but we can't help there.

What about doing a small piece of Ressell instead?

Or even a smaller object ... like a rock .... so we can test this idea of using content generated by our virtual divers?

For now yes (ediver_at_divenav_dot_com)
In the future we will allow authorized members to upload models directly to eDiving
