Invalid message length on Samsung S4

Q: When trying to connect to my bluebuddy (Tech Buddy) using my Samsung Galaxy S4, I receive an error "Invalid message length: 5 < X." What does this mean and how can I fix it?

A: This is a bug specific to the S4 and other Samsung devices using Android 4.2.
A temporary workaround is to use the Application Manager in Android's settings menu (or some other task manager app) to force stop My bluebuddy app.
Afterwards, your first connection to a bluebuddy with the newly started My bluebuddy app should be unaffected by this bug.
We are investigating a more permanent fix.
