Tech buddy doesn't connect

Postby casrenooij » Mon Aug 11, 2014 12:12 am

I think my tech buddy died. It doesn't get scanned anymore. I bought it just over a year ago and used it for somewhere near 50 or 60 dives. Could the battery be the problem and wouldn't that be a bit soon ?

Hi, I haven't enable to dive much last year and my replacement tech buddy has problems connecting. At first I suspected my tablet and phone (both Samsung) but my new phone and wife's Ipad also do not connect. It can't be the battery because the tb has seen water less than 15 times. Please advise.

Hello. I haven't used my Tech Buddy in years unfortunately, but I just tried it again today and I was able to see the device on the app. When I select the tech buddy the app starts connecting, then immediately disconnects. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S5, is there a step I'm missing, or is this a sign of a weak battery?

I've placed the phone in "visibility mode" with a 5 minute time out and I'm still not able to connect. The phone sees the tech buddy, and tries to connect but immediately disconnects, giving me a message saying "device disconnected".

Ok I've tried resetting the TechBuddy, but now the Bluebuddy App doesn't see the TechBuddy at all. I've downloaded the BlueBuddy Scanner App, and it sees the TechBuddy. I've uninstalled the BlueBuddy app, and re-installed the app, and it still won't see the device. So are there any other suggestions, tricks I could try?

Proximity mode was never enabled. If it's any consolation, my DC Buddy works just fine. Also I can see the Tech Buddy with the divePAL app, but it's also unable to connect to it either (not even sure it's supposed to though).
